Music
Traditional Music

Sue Whittle, organist and choir director

Like to sing? Here are some opportunities:

  • "Adult" Choir -- We welcome older youth as well! This choir sings at the 11:00 service most Sundays from September through mid-June. Rehearsal is on Wednesday evenings, 7:30 -- 9:00, and pre-service warm-up usually begins at 10:30 on Sunday morning.
  • Cantatas -- If you can't make a weekly commitment, consider joining us just for our Easter and/or Christmas cantata. This involves 4-5 rehearsals, usually from 1:00 -- 3:00 on Sunday afternoons, scattered over the two months preceding these church holy days.
  • Small groups -- We're always looking for singers for men's, women's, or mixed small vocal groups, for occasional service participation.

How about instrumental music? Adding other instruments makes worship seem brighter, and lets us introduce the talent sometimes hidden in our community. We welcome student, amateur, and professional musicians of all ages (and all instruments) to:

  • Accompany the choir for an occasional anthem, usually along with the piano. This requires one or two rehearsals with the choir on Wednesday night.
  • Perform solo pieces during the 11:00 worship service.
  • Perform as part of a small ensemble during the 11:00 worship service.

If you want to praise God with music in a traditional setting, but don't see what you're looking for, talk to Sue Whittle through the church office about your idea or talent.

Contemporary Music

Our Praise Band, under the leadership of Tim Foster, leads the music at our contemporary worship service. If you like to worship through music, but piano, organ, and choir are just not your thing, get in touch with Tim, again through our one stop church office.

Kids' Music

Our Cherub Choir (well, they LOOK like cherubs, anyway!) welcomes children aged approximately 5 through 12. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings, 6:30 -- 7:15, and participate in worship services two or three times a year. Talk to Sue Whittle if you're interested.
